Camping is available at Gateway Park. Located just off of Hwy 18 allows for easy access to the seven-site campground.
Gateway Campground and Park has recently been upgraded; in 2022 all sites have been hard-surfaced. We now have full hookups (electric, water and sewer) to all seven sites, new bathroom & updated shelter! 30, 50 and 110 amp electrical is available at each site. A dump station is available at no cost for campers but a $5 is required for all non-campers. Money can be left in the registration box. A picnic shelter with picnic tables is available for public use. The park/campground is not maintained during the winter months but is open if can be accessed.
A trail extension was completed in 2018 which starts at Gateway Park. A new playground was added in 2020.
The campground is first come, first-served; no reservations. Tents are $10/tent and $20/camper per night. Payment box with registration envelopes is located at the campground. Please call City Hall M-F 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at (563)539-2355 with questions.
We now offer Permanent and Semi-Permanent Camping Spots. Permanent Camping is from May 1st – October 31st and is $1200 (paid in full prior to move-in). Semi-Permanent Camping, during May 1st – October 31st only, is $400 per month, (paid in full prior to start of month; refunds will not be given if depart early; additional days beyond 1-month but shorter than a full month will be charged the full $20/night charge and is subject to City approval). Agreement for Permanent or Semi-Permanent Camping must be completed and turned into City Hall to be reviewed by City Council. Designated spots are #4, #5, and #6.
