Camping at Gateway Campground

For Gateway Campground Reservations or go to https://app.fireflyreservations.com/reserve/property/GatewayCampground.

Camping is available at Gateway Park. Located just off of Hwy 18 allows for easy access to the seven-site campground (additional tent sites coming soon).

Gateway Campground and Park has recently been upgraded; in 2022 all sites have been hard-surfaced. We now have full hookups (electric, water and sewer) to all seven sites, new bathroom & updated shelter! 30, 50 and 110 amp electrical is available at each site. A dump station is available at no cost for campers but a $5 is required for all non-campers. Money can be left in the payment box. A picnic shelter with picnic tables is available for public use (no reservations). The park/campground is not maintained during the winter months but is open if can be accessed.

A trail extension was completed in 2022 and a hard-surfacing project (mainly funded by private donations and grants), was completed in 2023 which starts at Gateway Park. A new playground was added in 2020.

NEW 2024 SEASON: Campground reservations must be made online through Firefly Reservations at https://app.fireflyreservations.com/reserve/property/GatewayCampground or use QR code above. Each site is $25/night. Sites 1-3 are pull-through sites and are RV only. Sites 4-7 are back-in sites. We are allowing tents on sites 4-7 until new tent only sites are completed in 2024 or 2025. Please call City Hall M-F 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at (563)539-2355 with questions; after hours, call the Monona Police Dept. at (563)539-4400 (leave a message is there is no answer and they will get back to you as soon as they can; they are not always in the office). For emergencies, call 911.
