Residents are required to register all cats and dogs with the city. There is no fee to register your pet, however, pets are required to have regular rabies vaccinations. For more information refer to the Animal Protection and Control Ordinance.

Register your pet by completing the Pet Registration Form (print, complete and return to City Hall; form also available at City Hall) and providing rabies vaccination certificate(s) from your vet.

To renew rabies vaccinations for existing registered pets you must provide a current rabies vaccination certificate from your vet.

Pet Registrations and rabies vaccination certificates can be dropped off at City Hall (104 E Center St), mailed to City Hall (PO Box 298), faxed (539-4774), or emailed (m.stewart@mononaiowa.com). Please call City Hall at 539-2355 with any questions.
